INDUSTRIAL CONFLICTS AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE: A CASE STUDY OF NATIONAL HOSPITAL ABUJA

Abstract


The study examines industrial conflicts and organizational performance in Abuja National Hospital. The population of the study consisted of all the staff of Abuja National Hospital. The study adopted Ex-fact design, while random sampling techniques was used in selecting 1,038 respondents. The structured questionnaire was used to elicit information from the respondents. Data collected were analyzed using pearsson product analysis. The finding of the study, shows that industrial conflicts has much effect on organizational performance. The study recommended that, efforts should be made by managers to consciously stimulate guided conflicts by encouraging divergent views and rewarding staff and units/departments for outstanding performance as well as management should also organized seminars/workshop. This will enable employees have a better understanding of conflict and how it can be effectively managed for individual and organization.
